The Anti: foreword collection is inspired by commonplace objects that only appear in certain scenarios, giving them wearability and allowing them to appear in other counterintuitive scenarios. anti:foreword is based on the Anti Theft Clothing Magnetic Buckle, a common item found in clothing shops, which, when worn outdoors, triggers a social behavioural experiment for both wearer and viewer. When worn outdoors, this symbolic and emblematic object and behaviour triggers a social and behavioural experiment for both wearer and viewer.

The story of the work I was wearing the original version of this work when I participated in a group exhibition in Barcelona in 2018. I was walking one evening when a local man passed me and noticed that I was wearing the brooch. He suddenly reached out to touch it and said in broken English that I had stolen clothes. Since the original version of this piece was worn with a magnet rather than a traditional steel pin, it fell right off the coat and onto the ground. It was at this point that the man realised it wasn't what he thought it was and immediately apologised to me. Having this experience inspired me to create this social behaviour experiment.
